Recent studies highlight that mesenchymal stem cell–derived EVs (MSC-EVs) play a role in modulating ER stress-induced pathologies. In our work we evaluated the regulation of different ER-Stress related genes in a serum deprivation model of HCECs treated with MSC-EVs and Serum- derived extracellular vesicles (SER-EV).
The aim this work is, therefore, to investigate whether EVs, released by human bone marrow MSCs, may be beneficial in reducing ER-stress and HCEC apoptosis induced by an in vitro damage model caused by nutrient-deprivation.
